Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Mass hallucination?

There have been lots of these throughout history.

Loads involving the Virgin Mary alone.

And then there's UFOlogy

Nice one Queens!

It wasn't a drone over Gatwick! It was Santa and Rudolph...

No drone is better than a bad drone.

Looks like it was false alerts.

Probably going to get a few extra laws though...just in case, like...

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
There might not have been any drones now, only in England.

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Apologies if already said but

Gatwick is a private airport, presumably the immediate airspace above it is owned/monitered by the Civil Aaviation Authority. If Putin were to fly one of his plodding bombers over it the RAF would engage and politely tell them to f@ck off or get blown up. As we are not able speak to a drone just obliterate the f@cker......Job done

Apparently that blokes employer can vouch for his whereabouts every day last week between 7am and 5pm.
Read it somewhere yesterday, Sunday Times i think

Ok then. The only money the government has is what you pay though taxation...

LeroysBoots 10:35 Mon Dec 24
Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Ok, it's just passengers will have to pay for them then through increased ticket prices

Willtell 10:32 Mon Dec 24
Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Actually Leroys mate, I disagree about that being a government thing.

Airports are massive profit making rip offs. They should have the ability to remove drones or anything else themselves without the government needing to think for commercial businesses...

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Its like Dad's Army are running the country because the politicians are on their ever so long and well deserved Christmas break.

Gatwick had to "borrow the Drone Dome" that can bring drones down

EVERY single commercial airport should have 1 supplied by the Government

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Apparently the old bill were tipped off about the bloke, yet he doesn't own a drone anymore, sold it in the summer !

His boss called the police to tell them that he was on a job for him over the days of the problems, nobody got back to him

Good job Britain is about to "take back control" from the EU..

What could possibly go wrong!

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Fucking outrageous
Imagine being on their side of the fence, two regular folk, suddenly thrust into the spotlight through no fault of their own and ridiculed/besmirched in equal measure. Then just dropped.

I too hope there is some recompense, the CSI appears a right clueless twerp and Labour are right in calling for an enquiry - heads should be lopped for this fiasco

LeroysBoots 8:57 Mon Dec 24
Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Apparently the old bill left their home in an awful state, that is fucking scandalous.

I hope they get decent representation and sue the fuck out of all of those that made their lives so miserable

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Is this copper for real? Eddied from the BBC

'Det Ch Supt Jason Tingley said no footage of a drone had been obtained.

And he said there was "always a possibility" the reported sightings of drones were mistaken.

However, he later confirmed the reported sightings made by the public, police and airport staff from December 19 to 21 were being "actively investigated".

"We are interviewing those who have reported these sightings, are carrying out extensive house-to-house inquiries, and carrying out a forensic examination of a damaged drone found near the perimeter of the airport."

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
So what the government are having us to believe, is that when these drones were first being used, that there would be nothing in place to stop a terrorist dropping a couple of sticks of dynamite or some Novochok on to the grounds of Buck House or 10 Downing St. and there is no way we can take a drone out?

Re: Theses Drones At Gatwick
Is it standard police practice to arrest people, with little or no evidence against them, BROADCAST THEIR NAMES TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, only to then realise there's no case against them?
